We have a unique and exciting opportunity to join our Water Quality team as the Laboratory Supervisor (Chemistry) to manage the chemical section of our UKAS accredited ISO 17025 laboratory. What will you be doing? Key Responsibilities Responsibility for the day to day running of the section which undertakes the analysis of water samples for a range of chemical analyses including turbidity, pH, Conductivity, Nutrients and Metals. Responsible for the continued maintenance of the quality system (AQC, UoM, PT, CAPA monitoring and investigation) Lead approver of analytical results and a counter signatory for worksheets and forms. Escalation point for queries, supports others with troubleshooting, providing solutions to water quality problems to maintain compliance with water quality regulations. Participation in external UKAS 17025 audits and clearance of audit findings. Assists with identifying training needs and ensures these are addressed and evaluated. Organise & supervises method validation exercises. Carries out Internal Audits of the Water Quality Team Reporting of results to internal and external customers and answering customer queries as required. What do you need? Skills, Qualifications & Competencies A relevant degree (or equivalent) and hold Chartership status of a professional body including a current Continued Professional Development Understanding and experience of working to ISO 17025 Experience of inorganic chemistry methods Ability to prioritise tasks; demonstrable organisational ability with proven ability to meet deadlines Strong attention to detail Experience working within the water industry We recognise people want to work in a variety of different ways, and that s why we re happy to consider flexible working arrangements.
