About the role: Beauty Teacher
Activate Learning have an exciting opportunity for a Beauty Teacher to join our team and inspire the next generation of creative students at Guildford College. Our Beauty Therapy courses cover a range of topics, including manicures, pedicures, nail art, themed face painting, skincare, waxing, eye treatments and massage.
As a Beauty Teacher, you will primarily teach and assess students across Levels 1, 2, and 3. We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic individual with a passion for delivering engaging, practical lessons while nurturing the unique talents of each student.
You will also have responsibilities as a Study Programme Owner, playing a vital role in supporting students by maintaining communication with families and keeping students engaged in their programmes through regular one-to-one meetings. You will monitor student progress and collaborate closely with subject teachers to ensure they are reaching their full potential.
This is a permanent, part-time position working 33.4 hours per week (0.9 FTE) at our Guildford College campus. There will be occasional evenings and weekends supporting the faculty with events.
What do you need to be successful as a Beauty Teacher at Activate Learning?
We are looking for individuals who can act as role models for our students, helping them gain not only professional qualifications but also the skills and attributes needed to thrive in their careers.
To be successful in this role, you should hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Beauty Therapy and have relevant, up-to-date industry experience. This will allow you to help students develop the practical skills and knowledge required for the beauty therapy profession.
While previous teaching experience and qualifications are beneficial, they are not essential. If you have the expertise and passion to teach beauty therapy, we will provide the necessary training and support to help you succeed in the further education (FE) sector.
About you:
1. A minimum Level 3 qualification in Beauty Therapy and experience working as a beauty therapist are essential.
2. You must either have an Assessor’s Award or be willing to work towards one within the first three months.
3. While a teaching qualification and experience in education are desirable, they are not required.
4. An IQA qualification would be highly desirable, but is not essential
Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage your workload effectively are essential .You’ll benefit from being part of a supportive team in a dynamic role that offers diverse opportunities for professional growth.
