Overview
Velindre University NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Estates Manager to lead the Trust-wide estates function, ensuring safe, sustainable, and compliant healthcare environments. This is a fixed-term/secondment role for up to 24 months due to funding. The post is fixed-term/secondment until September 2027. Applicants must obtain permission from their current line manager prior to applying for this post.

Responsibilities
* Lead the development, implementation, and continual improvement of a Trust-wide estates function, applying expertise in estates and facilities management, capital delivery, and strategic asset planning to support safe, sustainable, and effective healthcare environments.
* Ensure Trust-wide compliance with all relevant statutory, legislative, and regulatory requirements through technical oversight of engineering services and infrastructure, acting as the Responsible and Authorised Person across critical systems.
* Lead projects from inception to completion, managing highly complex construction and engineering schemes. Develop, implement and review Trust-wide estates and compliance policies, including those that enable delivery of long-term infrastructure and decarbonisation goals.
* Provide robust internal and external audit and assurance for estates compliance, risk management, performance, and policy implementation across the Trust estate portfolio.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential
* Master\'s Degree / equivalent in an appropriate discipline or equivalent relevant experience
* Technical, construction and project management skills
* Health and Safety knowledge e.g. Health and Safety at Work regulations
* Legislation with regard to statutory and Health and Safety with regard to the Estate including COSHH, asbestos and legionella
* Good working knowledge and understanding of environmental sustainability issues and carbon reduction

* Mechanical/electrical engineering qualification

* Estates management background and experience of operational estates management within a hospital environment
* Significant experience at a senior management level within an NHS estates/facilities professional role
* Experience in planning and financial management
