The Group’s Transformation Function is responsible for realising these strategic objectives through the design, delivery, and management of the Group Transformation Portfolio. We work cross-functionally with experts from Technology, Product, Finance, and other business areas to deliver best-in-class outcomes.
The Role:
The Payments Project Manager will be responsible for the discovery, design, and delivery of a new payments platform across all Staysure Group brands, leading the implementation of Stripe as our core payments solution.
Reporting to the Products and Customer Journey Delivery Lead, this person will work closely with key trading stakeholders across Staysure Group to ensure the successful deployment and adoption of our new payments infrastructure, improving the customer experience and ensuring seamless financial transactions.
This role requires a strong commercial mindset, deep expertise in the travel insurance and insurance markets, and extensive experience in payments platform delivery, with a specific focus on Stripe implementation.
What will you do?
Payments Platform Strategy & Delivery
* Lead the end-to-end delivery of the new payments platform, ensuring successful implementation of Stripe across all group brands.
* Develop and execute a payments transformation roadmap, ensuring initiatives align with commercial and customer experience objectives.
* Work with trading and finance teams to define payments requirements, including payment methods, fraud prevention, reconciliation, and reporting.
* Oversee the integration of Stripe with existing systems, working closely with Technology and Product teams to ensure smooth implementation.
Commercial & Operational Excellence
* Leverage deep knowledge of payments ecosystems, travel insurance, and financial services to drive commercial value from the Stripe implementation.
* Identify opportunities to optimise transaction costs, improve payment success rates, and enhance fraud prevention measures.
* Ensure compliance with payment regulations, security standards, and industry best practices.
* Collaborate with finance teams to improve payment reconciliation, reporting, and settlement processes.
Project & Stakeholder Management
* Manage a cross-functional project team to deliver the payments transformation on time, within scope, and in line with business expectations.
* Work closely with trading, finance, technology, and customer operations teams to ensure a seamless transition to the new payments platform.
* Define and monitor key performance metrics, ensuring the Stripe implementation meets business and customer needs.
* Provide regular project updates, risk assessments, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Customer & Employee Experience
* Ensure that the payments experience is frictionless, secure, and scalable across all Staysure Group brands.
* Work with customer service and operations teams to ensure smooth handling of refunds, disputes, and chargebacks.
* Stay ahead of emerging payment trends, ensuring that Staysure Group remains at the forefront of customer-centric payments innovation.
Essentials:
* Extensive experience in payments platform delivery, with a specific focus on Stripe implementation.
* Strong understanding of payments ecosystems, financial services, and transaction processing.
* Deep knowledge of the travel insurance and insurance markets, particularly in relation to customer payments, claims processing, and fraud prevention.
* Proven ability to translate commercial priorities into structured initiatives and execution roadmaps.
* Experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating with trading, finance, technology, and operations.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and external partners.
* Excellent project management capabilities, with experience delivering complex, multi-brand platform implementations.
* Knowledge of payment security, compliance, and regulatory requirements, including PCI-DSS and PSD2.

* Experience working within a multi-brand organisation or group structure.
* Familiarity with agile methodologies and product-led delivery approaches.
* Experience with international payments, multi-currency processing, and cross-border transactions.
