Mechanical Estimator Birmingham £38,000 - £75,000 (DOE) Car Allowance Bonus Projects £1m - £20m (M&E Schemes up to £30m Capability) The Company A well-established and growing M&E contractor delivering mechanical and electrical projects across commercial, industrial and mixed-use sectors. With annual turnover exceeding £60m and projects ranging from £1m-£20m (with capability up to £30m), the business has built a strong reputation for integrity, technical expertise and long-term client relationships. Due to continued growth and internal development, they are looking to appoint a Mechanical Estimator to join their Birmingham office. The Role You will manage the full tender lifecycle - from document review through to submission and post-tender analysis - working within a collaborative estimating team. The role offers progression and the opportunity to take ownership of tenders, with the expectation of leading bids as you develop within the team. Responsibilities: Prepare detailed mechanical cost estimates and tender submissions Analyse technical drawings and specifications Price both Plan & Spec and Design & Build projects Identify commercial risks and propose value engineering solutions Liaise with supply chain partners and subcontractors Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings Manage 1-2 live tenders concurrently (plus TQs) Work closely with senior management and project teams What They're Looking For Experience producing mechanical cost estimates within building services Understanding of mechanical systems and construction processes Experience working on projects typically £1m in value Comfortable working within a team environment Ability to lead tenders with support Strong commercial awareness and organisational skills Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Relevant mechanical/building services qualifications (or equivalent experience) Salary & Package The business is open to different levels of experience: Junior Estimator: £26k - £35k Intermediate Estimator: £38k - £52k Senior Estimator: £55k - £75k Plus: car allowance Christmas bonus 5% employer pension contribution Hybrid / flexible working (subject to experience) Why Apply?
