Role Senior Bid Manager – join our growing business development team. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the end-to-end bid lifecycle and own the delivery of winning bids. You will coach and develop people in the bid process and the skills required to deliver bids, and drive improvements across our bid function including processes, tools, and content.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the full lifecycle of bids, from opportunity shaping, qualification and win strategy to submission, close and post-bid reviews.
* Manage complex, multi-disciplinary bid teams to deliver high-quality responses to strict deadlines.
* Ensure all submissions meet client requirements and internal governance standards.
* Support internal knowledge sharing and coaching of more junior team members.
* Identify risks and propose solutions to mitigate them.
* Develop, manage and enforce the plan and process for assigned bids and maintain responsibility for quality and consistency.
* Revise schedules, outlines, and compliance matrices as necessary throughout the bid lifecycle.
* Work with Sector Leads to develop, coach and agree win strategy and themes, executive summaries, and validation of our value proposition.
* Understand customer requirements and translate capabilities and case studies into compelling responses.
* Manage assigned opportunities through decision gates.
* Embed a culture of learning and development of the process and skills to develop colleagues.
* Coordinate contributions to submission documents to ensure timely completion.
* Participate in supplier days and presentations.
* Review and edit bid responses for consistency, compliance, win themes, solution accuracy, and other elements during reviews to create the final bid submission.
* Create presentations using PowerPoint and coach teams on presentation best practice.
* Lead process improvements for bid development, tracking and monitoring, and identify opportunities for efficiency.
Qualifications
Essential
* 5+ years in a bid role in the technology industry.
* Demonstrable experience delivering winning bids and frameworks.
* Expert knowledge of bidding best practices (e.g., APMP).
* Excellent English writing skills, technical and non-technical, with ability to tailor copy to the audience.
* Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage diverse tasks to tight deadlines.
* High computer literacy across office software.
* Confident communicator (verbal, written, and visual).
* Ability to develop compelling themes, discriminators, and messaging to support the value proposition.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with all management levels.
* Ability to create original content using interview and research techniques.
* Strong commercial understanding, P&L and risk management skills.
* Proactive self-starter who takes ownership and drives change.
* Comfortable collaborating and challenging across diverse contributors.
Desirable
* APMP Practitioner or Professional level would be an asset.
* Project management qualification would be an asset.

* Must be able to attain UK Security Clearance.
