ER Advisor – Sickness Support Team
As an ER Advisor, you will support sickness‑related services by providing expert advice, training, data‑driven targeting and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert advice in sickness‑related meetings (Long‑Term Sickness, Short‑Term Sickness, Return to Work), ensuring compliance, case progression and guidance on adjustments and hearings.
* Build managerial capability by delivering tailored 1:1 and team training on sickness absence processes, documentation standards and system usage, and coaching managers to increase confidence.
* Use sickness‑absence data to inform monthly service allocations, prioritise high‑need areas, and coordinate with HR Business Partners.
* Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Occupational Health, Organisational Development and Staff Wellbeing teams to deliver proactive solutions and support workforce health.
* Design and deliver a comprehensive training suite covering procedures, meeting preparation and documentation, using interactive methods such as role play.
* Maintain strong relationships with directorates, act on feedback to improve service delivery and promote best practice.
Requirements
* Experienced HR professional or significant line‑management experience in sickness absence and applicable policy application.
* Strong understanding of HR processes and practical management experience.
* Excellent communication, collaboration and training delivery skills.
* Ability to analyse data and use insights to drive decisions.
Location & Working Hours
Temporary position requiring onsite presence at least four days per week.
