Vanrath are recruiting for a Band 5 Residential Child Care Worker on behalf of a large public sector organization in Bangor for a temporary position.

* Shift times: 7:30am to 8:30pm, 7:30am to 2:00pm, 1:30pm to 9:00pm, or waking night duty from 8:30pm to 7:30am

The successful candidate will act as a shift coordinator providing care for children with learning disabilities and challenging behaviors. They will work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to children residing in the facility.
What you'll do
* Coordinate shifts for children, working with community disability teams, families, schools, and other professionals.
* Ensure systems are in place to capture the views of young people to inform practice.
* Coordinate effective, holistic care in a multi-professional setting.
* Deliver and promote evidence-based practices and care plans.
* Contribute to improving care outcomes.
* Lead by example in maintaining high standards of care, supporting young people with physical and emotional needs.
* Participate actively in team activities and ensure duties are completed efficiently.
* Monitor and report on client progress, maintaining accurate records.
* Make informed decisions based on professional knowledge.
* Maintain effective communication with multidisciplinary and community services.
* Engage with clients and their families to meet individual needs and address concerns.
About you
HNC/D or equivalent in a care-related subject plus 2 years' experience working with children in a residential setting, OR
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a care-related subject plus 4 years' experience working with children in a residential setting.
Applicants must complete registration with NISCC or another relevant council before starting employment.
