Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team working within children's day care nursery. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff in meal preparation and ensuring a clean and efficient kitchen environment. This position is perfect for individuals with a passion for food and a desire to develop their culinary skills within a dynamic and fast-paced setting.
Duties
* Assist with food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients.
* Support the cooking staff by preparing meals according to established recipes and standards for 3 nurseries
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal service.
* Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages
Requirements
* Previous kitchen experience is preferred, particularly in a catering.
* Basic cooking skills with an understanding of meal preparation techniques.
* Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy kitchen setting.
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced culinary professionals.
* Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
