Job Title: Engineering Project Manager
Location: Trowbridge

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
Onsite: A min of 3x days per week unless
Travel: required on project sites 2-4 days per month with some travel away from home / overnight during intense install phases
Job Purpose:
The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful planning, execution, and completion of client projects.
This role involves:
• Project and resource planning – Setting the achievable plan that optimises customer outcome with cost and risk
• Activity management – Ensuring that 3rd party sub-contractors and suppliers are delivering to the plan
• Management and reporting of project budgets, risk and progress
• Maintaining strong communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
• Working with our suppliers and the supply chain to constantly improve quality, cost and deliver (QCD)
Typical project value is <£1m (total client project value) of which 40-70% will be within scope of delivery a Project Manager would be expected to manage and control 10-25 straightforward, low complexity, projects per year.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
• Lead end-to-end project delivery planning, from initial planning to final handover.
• Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
• Manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and accurate forecasting.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain project progress.
• Monitor project performance, ensuring objectives are met within agreed timeframes and budgets.
• Identify opportunities to improve client experience and project delivery processes.
• Contribute to the development of best practices for project management.
Client Engagement:
• Support the Operations Director ensuring that timely and accurate information is available for client sites
• Establish strong relationships with the commercial team and our clients to understand their needs, objectives, and expectations.
• Provide regular project updates and ensure any issues are communicated promptly.
• Manage client feedback and ensure concerns are addressed effectively.
Team Leadership:
• Coordinate the activity of the cross-functional delivery team to deliver project milestones.
• Assign tasks, track progress, and ensure accountability across project teams.
• Support team development by providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring.
Documentation & Reporting:
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including risk registers, action logs, and progress reports.
• Prepare detailed status reports for internal and client review.
• Ensure all project documentation is completed, approved, and stored correctly.
Skills & Experience Required:
• Fluent English speaker proficient in project management, construction and engineering vocabulary
• Proven experience in engineering / asset project management, ideally in a client-facing role.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, or PMP).
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple specific project plans as well as the overlapping “master project plan” simultaneously.
• Proficiency in project management tools
• Project procurement (including contracts) and supplier management
• Project budget management and financial reporting.
Desirable Qualifications:
• Formal Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2, PMP, or AgilePM.
• Experience in related industries such as waste, engineering or construction
