Legal Counsel (Temporary)
Location: London
Contract Type: Full time. Temporary, hybrid working 3 days in office.
Day rate: TBC
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Legal Manager to manage the legal affairs of the organisation.
Provide legal guidance on transactions, including negotiating LNG Sales and Purchase Agreements and assisting with credit support arrangements.
Support Cargo Operations in the administration of liquid contracts and sales operations, including dispute resolution.
Advise on the management of Time Charter Parties (TCPs) with ship owners and negotiate charter agreements.
Review all contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with internal policies and legal requirements.
Assess compliance with competition laws, anti-bribery regulations, and other relevant legislation.
Monitor and ensure compliance with governance processes to uphold contractual obligations and regulations.
Identify potential litigation areas and manage legal compliance under UK Company Law.
Establish and maintain pre-approved legal templates and ensure they conform to current laws and best practises.
Maintain appropriate company records and collaborate effectively with other teams.Qualifications:
Qualified solicitor or barrister in England and Wales.
A minimum of 1 year of experience in law within the international or UK energy, shipping, or related industries.
For Senior Legal Counsel consideration, at least 5 years of relevant experience is required.
Proven expertise in advising clients on English, EU, and international laws and regulations.Preferred Experience:
Previous experience in the LNG and international shipping sectors.
