Job Overview
We are looking for a caring and dedicated Support Worker to provide essential care and support to individuals in need. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for person-centred care, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to promoting dignity and independence.
This role involves working closely with clients in care homes and homecare settings, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide personal care, including assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
* Support clients with meal preparation to meet their nutritional needs.
* Assist with mobility and transfers, following safety protocols, including the use of mobility aids.
* Help with light housekeeping to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
* Engage clients in companionship and social activities to enhance their emotional well-being.
* Implement behaviour management strategies to encourage positive interactions.
* Monitor clients' health and well-being, reporting any changes to healthcare professionals.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records for continuity of care.
* Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive, person-centred care.
Skills & Requirements
* Experience working in nursing homes or homecare is preferred.
* Knowledge of first aid and emergency response protocols.
* Ability to drive and transport clients when required (preferred).
* Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients and their families.
* A compassionate, patient, and understanding approach to care.
* Physically capable of performing safe heavy lifting when assisting with mobility.
* Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond to changing client needs and schedules.
