As a Design Engineer based in Staffordshire (hybrid, two days on site), youll guide concepts into robust, manufacturable products for a well-known UK brand. Scope of the Role As a Design Engineer, youll add technical judgement early, then own delivery through manufacture. Youll work with industrial design, suppliers, and stakeholders to reduce risk and move faster. Develop products from concept to manufacture. Assess feasibility, trade-offs, risk, and delivery routes. Produce CAD, drawings, BOMs, and documentation. Apply DFM across plastics, metals, and assemblies. Engage UK and international suppliers through sampling and pre-production. Key Skills and Experience Required Proven Design Engineer, Product Design Engineer, or Mechanical Design Engineer on physical consumer products. End-to-end NPD, from early concept to release. Strong DFM judgement, cost/quality trade-offs, supplier collaboration. Communicate trade-offs clearly to non-engineers. Comfortable with ambiguity and field insight when useful.
