Mechanical Team Leader – Energy from Waste Power Station£55,000 - £62,000 + benefitsGloucestershireSCINERGY Recruitment are recruiting for a Mechanical Team Leader to join the maintenance department of an energy from waste power station near the Gloucester area.This is a senior role focused on the performance, reliability and maintenance of all mechanical plant across the facility. The successful candidate will act as the site's mechanical technical expert, leading a skilled maintenance team and ensuring plant equipment is maintained safely, efficiently and in line with statutory and environmental requirements.The role will involve:Leading and managing a team of mechanical maintenance techniciansTaking ownership of mechanical plant performance, reliability and availabilityActing as the site technical lead for mechanical maintenance activitiesDiagnosing complex faults, carrying out root cause analysis and driving reliability improvementsPlanning and coordinating preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance activitiesSupporting shutdowns, outages and major engineering worksSupervising contractors, service providers and specialist vendors on siteManaging mechanical service contracts and Long-Term Service AgreementsEnsuring compliance with site procedures, Safe Systems of Work, permits and site safety rulesWorking closely with operations, engineering and senior site leadership to improve plant performanceSupporting budget planning, spare parts strategy and maintenance improvement initiativesIdentifying training needs and supporting the development of the mechanical maintenance teamTo be considered for this role, you should have:An HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical EngineeringStrong mechanical maintenance experience within power generation or a heavy process environmentExperience in a heavy process environment, ideally power generation/ EFW or similar. Marine Engineers from the Royal or Merchant Navy will also be consideredStrong knowledge of mechanical plant including steam systems, turbines, pumps, valves, conveyors, gearboxes and rotating equipmentProven leadership experience with the ability to manage, motivate and develop a technical teamStrong understanding of health and safety legislation, Safe Systems of Work and permit-to-work proceduresWorking knowledge of statutory engineering regulations such as PSSR, LOLER and PUWERExperience coordinating contractors and third parties during planned and reactive maintenance worksStrong fault-finding, problem-solving and decision-making skillsGood communication skills with the ability to work closely with operations, maintenance and senior managementExperience using a CMMS would be desirableWhat's on offer:Salary up to £62,000 per annum25 days' annual leave plus Bank HolidaysCompany pensionOn-the-job training and progressionCyle to work schemeFurther benefitsFor further information or to apply, please contact Steve Utton at SCINERGY Recruitment on 07441 955 901 orTPBN1_UKTJ
