Job Opportunity: Senior Systems Engineer
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Systems Engineer within Thales OME, based in Reading or Glasgow. The role may require travel to other Thales sites, customer sites, or test facilities.
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will work autonomously on systems engineering design activities, including:
1. Defining Systems Requirements
2. Creating design documentation for systems engineering
3. Defining internal and external system interfaces
4. Functional system behavior definition
5. Developing test procedures for system verification
6. Conducting integration and verification testing
7. Gathering evidence that system requirements are met
8. Peer reviewing technical artifacts
9. Sharing knowledge within the engineering team
The successful candidate should be a proactive communicator, able to challenge ideas constructively, with experience in:
1. Working within multidisciplinary design teams
2. Defining system interfaces and boundaries
3. Requirements Engineering
4. Analyzing operational concepts
Beneficial additional experience includes:
1. Decomposing system designs to sub-systems
2. Knowledge of systems modeling techniques
3. Analyzing solutions against design needs
4. Using design analysis techniques such as trade-off analysis, modeling, and simulation
This role reports to the Discipline Manager for Systems Engineering.
