Are you a detail-oriented financial professional looking for an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact? We are seeking a talented Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team at Alderley Park. This is a 12-month fixed term contract with a hybrid working style, allowing you to balance your work between home and office.
About the Role:
As a Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our financial close team, focusing on analysis and control processes. You will develop your skills to become a subject matter expert on processes and ledger elements. Your contributions will be vital in achieving the team's vision, purpose, and objectives.
The Financial Close team encompasses disciplines such as policyholder, banking, tax, reinsurance, and cost accounting.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Producing, maintaining, and reviewing balance sheet control reconciliations, overseeing accounting flows, interfaces, and journal entries.
* Undertaking and reviewing complex accounting tasks to maintain ledger integrity.
* Developing a strong understanding of accounting principles and Royal London’s operational processes.
* Driving data planning, sourcing, collection, processing, cleansing, analysis, and reporting.
* Leading ledger control and review, collaborating with various business functions for issue resolution and process design.
* Driving improvements through automation and leveraging finance system capabilities.
* Sharing expertise as a Subject Matter Expert and coaching team members.
* Contributing to the team’s vision and objectives to ensure successful outcomes.
About You:
* Ideally qualified with experience in change management and process improvement.
* Proven track record in complex reconciliations and data analysis.
* Ability to develop and implement process improvements, documentation, and controls.
* Experience explaining data analysis to senior stakeholders, with recommendations for activity and improvement.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles, finance systems, and proficient in Microsoft Office.
