Are you ready to take your career to new heights in the aerospace industry? At our Kilkeel Facility, we manufacture aircraft interior seating for a number of worldwide customers, and we currently have an exciting opportunity for Quality Engineers to join our fast-paced and innovative team.
The successful candidates can expect to:
1. Maintain and improve Collins Quality management systems to ensure on-going effectiveness.
2. Ensure that all products are manufactured to relevant international standard(s) and meet or exceed Collins Aerospace and customer needs.
3. Ensure that product certification processes continue to meet FAA/EASA/CAA/AS9100 requirements.
These roles are based at our Moor Road facility in Kilkeel. The hours of work are 37.5 per week.
What you will do:
4. To establish/support/monitor quality policies and procedures that are followed throughout the business that contribute to consistent high-class performance in all areas
5. Represent the business with customers and regulatory authorities with the objective of inspiring confidence and enabling positive cooperation in the quality of products and services provided
6. Develop, promote and lead continuous improvement activities
7. Provide support and assistance to development in development and execution of corrective actions
8. Lead in quality system and/or process audits in Collins as needed
9. Leads and participates in supplier and in house improvement events
10. Contribute and participate in Material Review Board’s
11. Travel nationally and internationally in line with business requirements
12. Take initiative and seek results in a structured way
13. Clear communication (both verbally and orally) to all levels within the organisation on quality related topics
14. Maintains & improves Quality System documentation to ensure on-going effectiveness and alignment with corporate and regulatory requirements.
15. Coordinates QMS updates and supports process owners with changes to procedural documentation.
What you need to succeed?
Essential Criteria:
16. Hold or working towards a Third Level Qualification Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline and a minimum of 1 year’s relevant Quality or Engineering experience
OR
Internal Only Criteria:
17. Currently working in an M2 Role within Engineering or Quality
OR
18. Hold or working towards a Third Level Education in a relevant discipline
19. Minimum of 1 years' experience working in a P1 Engineering or Qualiyt Engineering role.
OR
20. Have successfully completed a relevant Development Programme e.g. (the ML Development Programme, Step Up Development Programme, Tech Tracks etc.)
OR
21. Currently working in a T5 role with experience in engineering or quality.
Desirable Criteria:
22. Demonstrate experience of completing and/or managing internal audits
23. Demonstrate experience of completing problem solving activities using methods such as 3C, 8D, 7D, DMAIC etc.
24. Working knowledge of lean principles
25. In depth knowledge and application of ISO9001/AS9100 standards
