Role
In this role, you will work with the course team to design and develop the teaching curriculum and content. We will be acknowledging the accreditation and validation requirements of the ARB and the RIBA. We launched the School in the academic year 2025/26 with the start of the new BA (hons) Architecture course and PhD courses. The role holder will contribute significantly to the delivery of excellent teaching and scholarly activity within the School. In addition we are developing the new Masters of Architecture course to start from 2028. You will be joining an exciting new school with a clear intention to deliver a curriculum that is informed by sustainable and culturally aware architecture, to a new generation of architects that responds to the rich cultural context of the city of York and the University. The successful applicant should have substantial teaching experience and a demonstrable record of academic curriculum design along with an area of research interest related to sustainability, ecological design and building technology.
Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
1. Experience of the design, development and delivery of teaching related to sustainability, ecological design and building technology, including materials, structures and construction techniques.
2. Experience of the design, development and delivery of teaching related to studio projects.
3. Experience of developing research objectives, projects and proposals and carrying out individual or collaborative research projects.
4. Experience of leading on and contributing to professional body accreditation and validation processes.
5. Experience of leading on and/or contributing to the production of research outputs and research outcomes and publishing high impact research in quality journals and developing research projects generating external research funding.
6. To lead the design, development and delivery of a range of academic modules and ensure compliance with the quality standards and regulations of the School and University and PRSBs.
7. To undertake effectively a range of administrative and managerial responsibilities
