If you are hardworking, friendly, professional and have patients at the centre of your working practice, then this could be the job for you! We are looking for an enthusiastic band 6 MRI radiographer to work within the fantastic MRI team at Lancashire Teaching Hospital Trust.
This dynamic role will involve working across 3 sites: Royal Preston Hospital, Chorley District Hospital, and a community diagnostic centre mobile scanner. The MRI department at RPH is a bright, spacious building with four scanners, including a 3T Siemens Skyra, two 1.5T Philips Ingenia scanners, and an Esaote Open scanner. The CDH department houses a new Ingenia Ambition helium‑free 1.5T.
The MRI team has received four GOLD star ratings in recent STAR safety accreditation reviews.
You will perform a diverse range of MR examinations for adult and paediatric patients in outpatient, inpatient and emergency department settings. You will interact with multidisciplinary teams such as the theatre team for patients undergoing MRI under anaesthetic and the pacing team for patients with a cardiac implantable electronic device.
As an MRI radiographer, you will be a key part of the imaging team, ensuring that service user needs are met through delivery of high‑quality care and covering a 24‑hour service as part of an on‑call commitment.
Duties
* Undertake radiographic duties across the three sites, ensuring high standards of image quality and patient care at all times.
* Comply with the MHRA guidelines to ensure patient, visitor and staff safety.
* Manage workflow in the area you are working in, including outpatients, inpatients and emergency department patients.
* Report equipment failures and incidents according to Trust policy.
* Participate in audits for the department to ensure excellent clinical governance in all aspects of patient care.
* Comply with Trust policies and procedures to ensure a safe and effective environment and service for all.
* Ensure accurate and timely documentation in line with information governance good practice.
* Support and teach other staff members.
