General Operator (2 Shift – Temp to Perm) Location: Ferryhill Pay Rate: £14.65 per hour (2 shift rate) Contract: Temporary to Permanent Department: Primary Operations Jackson Hogg are hiring on behalf of our client in Ferryhill (Primary Ops) for a General Operator to join their sheet metal manufacturing team on a temp-to-perm basis. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term position within a well-established engineering environment. Working Pattern * Day 1 induction on dayshift * Moving straight onto a 2-shift rotation * Full-time hours Pay * £14.65 per hour (2 shift rate – advertised rate) * Initial induction day paid at £12.21 per hour (dayshift rate) The Role You will be working within the Primary Operations department, supporting production activities in a sheet metal manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include: * Working with sheet metal components * Using hand dressing tools and automated dressing machines * Carrying out basic metal dressing (training provided where required) * Reading and interpreting engineering drawings (first and third angle projection essential) * Setting machine tools where required * Working independently within a team of approximately six operators * Completing in-process inspections at the correct frequency and quality standard Candidate Requirements * Experience within a sheet metal or manufacturing environment * Ability to read and understand engineering drawings * Experience using hand tools in a production setting * Ability to work unsupervised and manage workload effectively * Strong attention to detail and quality focus * Reliable and able to work a 2-shift rotation If you have manufacturing experience and are looking for a temp-to-perm opportunity in Ferryhill, we would welcome your application.
