Purpose:
We are seeking a highly motivated, results driven Head of Business Development & Sales to identify and drive growth, partnerships and new opportunities within the energy sector in the UK. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, exploring market trends, and developing strategies to position nexos as a service leader in the UK energy industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Market Research & Analysis: Conducting market and customer profiling to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks within the UK energy industry.
* Market Development: Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in the energy sector that best play to the core strengths and competencies of nexos.
* Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing effective business development strategies to achieve revenue and market share growth targets.
* Strategic Partnerships: Develop alliances with suppliers, contractors, and technology providers to support business growth.
* Lead Generation: Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities through lead generation, networking, collaboration and working with commercial and technical teams to develop specific win plans for each opportunity.
* Relationship Management: Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, partners, government bodies and industry influencers to enhance the market presence of the organisation.
* Cross-functional Collaboration: Working closely with internal teams, including operations, commercial, finance, and legal, to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
* Reporting & Forecasting:
* Provide accurate sales forecast, performance reports and market intelligence to the leadership team
* Create robust client engagement plans focused on targeting key markets and clients and ensure the business development team are meeting the plan with a focus on turning opportunities into sales.
* Ensure there is a system / process in place for clearly articulating the outcome of the client engagements to the leadership team.
* Ensure all business development data is captured in CRM and that data is accurately maintained.
* Team Management: Management of the Business Development team which includes tendering and proposals, marketing and communications, and graphic design.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Demonstrable experience in a senior business development & sales role within the energy industry.
* Strong understanding of the UK energy market, including oil and gas, renewable and utilities, with the ability to track and evaluate energy trends and regulatory landscape within these markets.
* Evidence of success building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
* Demonstrable experience in developing long term strategic relationships and closing high-value deals.

Work Environment/Conditions:
* Office: Corporate headquarters, Albyn Place. Will require travel to other nexos facilities, client premises and industry events.
* Full-Time: 37.5-hours per week.
