About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide personalised support to a student with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or Individualised Education Program (IEP) at our secondary school in Preston. This is a highly rewarding position where you will help the student access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to implement the student\'s specific support strategies and foster a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-on-one support to a student, helping them to stay on-task and understand lesson content.
* Implement the strategies outlined in the student\'s EHCP or IEP.
* Adapt learning materials and activities to meet the student\'s individual needs.
* Encourage the student\'s independence and social inclusion within the school community.
* Monitor and record the student\'s progress and report back to the class teacher and SENCO.
* Assist with communication and liaison between the student, teachers, and parents.
* Support the student during exams, breaks, and extra-curricular activities as required.
What We\'re Looking For
* Essential Experience: Proven experience as a teaching assistant, specifically with students who have an EHCP or IEP.
* A strong understanding of a range of special educational needs.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
