As a Senior Assistant Psychologist, you will play a vital role in supporting clients who have sustained personal injuries, including brain injuries, helping them access essential services, navigate their recovery journey, and achieve their goals. This role involves developing and coordinating person-centred care plans, advocating for clients, and working closely with families, healthcare professionals, and community resources to provide holistic support, under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist with comprehensive immediate needs assessments (INAs) to identify the client's medical, social, emotional, and financial needs.
2. Assist with developing, implementing, and monitoring personalised care plans, ensuring they align with the client's goals and needs.
3. Assist with regularly reviewing and adjusting care plans to reflect progress and changing circumstances.
4. Serve as a key point of contact for clients and their families, offering guidance, support, and education about recovery, under supervision from a Clinical Psychologist.
5. Advocate for clients to ensure they receive appropriate treatments, therapies, and services.
6. Empower clients to take an active role in their recovery journey.
7. Help to facilitate effective communication and coordination among healthcare providers, rehabilitation specialists, social workers, and other professionals.
8. Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions, assessments, and progress.
9. Assist with the preparation of reports.
Working Conditions
This is a hybrid working role with a combination of remote working and travel to client homes and healthcare environments. Regular travel may be required to meet clients and attend meetings or appointments. This role may involve exposure to emotional and challenging situations.

1. Qualifications and Training
Essential
Minimum 2.1 degree in Psychology with Graduate Basis for Registration with the BPS
Willingness to complete additional training as required for appropriate performance of the role
Desirable
Further post-graduate training (e.g. MSc) in a relevant area such as Neuropsychology or Clinical Psychology
1. Experience
Essential
Previous experience of working in or volunteering in a clinical setting with people who have Mental Health, Neuropsychology, Physical Health, or Social Care needs
Experience of working with adults and or children and young people with potential neurocognitive needs as well as the wider system such as family and other healthcare professionals
Desirable
Previous experience of working as a Case Manager or Care Co-ordinator that involved looking after the clinical needs of clients and or managing a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals
Previous experience of working as a Band 5 Assistant Psychologist in the NHS
