Veterinary Surgeon – Scarsdale Stapenhill & Hilton

Up to £68,000 (DOE). Welcome bonus of £5,000 (pro rata) & relocation support of up to £5,000.

Scarsdale Vets, a proud member of the inspiring vet care network, is currently looking for a vet to join our team on a permanent basis. We are the UK’s number one vet care provider, trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering a purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

The First opinion leadership team at Scarsdale Vets welcomes applications from enthusiastic vet surgeons for an exciting development opportunity to join our RCVS accredited branches in Stapenhill and Hilton. The role offers a mix of both routine and emergency medical/surgical cases. If you are looking to specialise, we can provide opportunities to study for a certificate or offer specialist services or treatments.

Rota patterns that work for you

We offer flexible working patterns that flex with you and your lifestyle and interests. Whether you want to balance home and work life or around the school timetable, we can offer flexibility that works for you. A typical full‑time role involves 38 hours per week over a 4‑day week, with a shared weekend rota. You’ll receive time back in lieu for all weekend work.

About Us

We are a multisite practice situated in the Midlands. In addition to our main RCVS Tier 3 accredited hospital, we have eight practice sites, all accredited by the RCVS under the Practice Standards Scheme. We have a talented and enthusiastic team of Veterinary Surgeons, as well as a roster of New Grad Vets supported by an exceptional team of Registered Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Care Assistants and Client Care Advisors.

Many of our team members, both vets and nurses, are certificate holders including Medicine, Surgery, ECC, Ophthalmology and Imaging, and we actively encourage and support certificate study. Our main hospital at Derby is well‑equipped with a CT scanner, MRI, Advanced Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Digital X‑ray, Dental radiography, and multiple surgical suites, as well as an onsite hydrotherapy & rehabilitation centre and a multi‑disciplinary specialist‑led referral service.

A great place to live & work

Centrally located, it offers great transport links to the rest of the country. From Burton on Trent station, trains run the main commuter routes to many cities such as Manchester, Nottingham, Birmingham. For car travel, the A6 links Derbyshire to Leicester and Manchester, and the M1 takes you south to London or north to Sheffield and Leeds. It’s an ideal location for visiting friends and family, with East Midlands Airport just 30 minutes away. The nearby Peak District National Park is perfect for walking, climbing, cycling and water activities. Culture is also abundant, with entertainment at Derby Theatre, local gigs, and country houses.
