The Role
Scarsdale Vets, Oakwood are looking for a vet surgeon to join their team to work in their purpose-built RCVS accredited practice. Offering a mix of preventative; medical and surgical cases within a 1st opinion setting. Oakwood is part of Scarsdale offering fantastic facilities and support but also is run very much independently offering a more relaxed and slower pace. This is a great opportunity to develop and tailor the service we currently provide around your strengths and interests, and actively encourage and support further study should this be of interest to you.
Rota
Ideally we are looking for a vet for 20 hours per week across 2 days, 1:4 Saturday mornings 8:30am-1:00pm & 1:8 Sunday day shift, however, we can offer flexible working patterns that flex with you and your lifestyle.
Salary
Up to £68,000 pro rata negotiable D.O.E.
Welcome bonus of up to £5,000 pro rata
Relocation allowance of up to £5,000 pro rata
About us
Based in Oakwood, a suburb of Derby, and in addition to this practice we are supported by our Tier 3 accredited hospital and 8 sister practice sites – all our sites are accredited by the RCVS under the Practice Standards Scheme. We have a team of a registered veterinary nurses, veterinary care assistants and client care advisors.
Our practice is well equipped with lab facilities, digital x-ray, ultrasound, theatre suite and two consulting rooms. Our main hospital provides our out of hours care and hospitalisation facilities which also includes CT scanner, MRI, Advanced Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Digital X-ray, Dental radiography, and multiple surgical suites, as well as an onsite hydrotherapy & rehabilitation centre and benefits from a multi-disciplinary specialist led referral service.
Centrally located there are great transport links to the rest of the country with trains running from Derby to London, Nottingham, Birmingham, and Leeds to name a few, making it an ideal location for and East Midlands airport is just 30 minutes away.
Applicant requirements
Must be RCVS registered, confident in all aspects of 1st opinion work. Has a clean and current driving licence, works well in a team environment as well as a one-one basis, self-motivated and confident in their skillset.
