Overview
BAE Systems (Land Sector) is looking for a Product Development Engineer to support the development and delivery of defence products at their Glascoed site. This is a hands‑on engineering role with a strong focus on technical documentation, trials activity, safety compliance paperwork, and configuration management.

* Location: Glascoed, Monmouthshire (NP15 1XL) - on‑site
* Contract length: 12 months
* Working pattern: 37 hours over 4 days (Mon-Thurs 07:15-17:00, Friday off)
* IR35: Inside IR35
* Rate: £38.25/hr Umbrella
* Headcount: 1
Responsibilities
* Produce and manage technical product specifications
* Write and review technical reports and supporting engineering documentation
* Plan, support, and document product trials
* Create and maintain safety paperwork, ensuring adherence to safety protocols
* Support/maintain configuration management activities and documentation
* Work closely with internal stakeholders to support delivery across the product development lifecycle
* Ensure compliance to relevant standards, procedures, and regulations
Required experience / skills
* Strong technical engineering capability (hands‑on, practical approach)
* Proven experience with:
o Technical report writing
o Specification writing
o Supporting or running trials
o Producing safety documentation / working to safety procedures
o Configuration management (processes, documentation, control)
* Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams
* Defence/regulated engineering experience preferred
