Key Responsibilities:
As a Year 1 Teaching Assistant, your role is crucial to the success of the classroom. You will be responsible for:
* Providing one-on-one and small-group support to improve phonics, reading fluency, and comprehension.
* Assisting pupils with key academic skills, including handwriting, spelling, and basic mathematical concepts.
* Helping the class teacher deliver structured lessons and preparing resources and materials that align with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
* Upholding and reinforcing the school's behaviour policies to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
* Monitoring pupils' progress and providing detailed feedback to the teacher on their academic and personal development.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must have:
* A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred, but not essential.
* An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one).
* The legal right to work in the UK without any restrictions.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A nurturing and patient approach to working with children.
* A passion for education and a genuine desire to make a difference.
* First Aid training is preferred, but not essential.
