Currently there is an exciting opportunity within the BHRUT Information Technology Department for a Telecoms Senior Lead (B7) for two days a week.

Reporting directly to the Infrastructure Manager, you will provide and deliver the highest possible server technical support to our customers and potential customers, by working as a member of the Telecoms Team to ensure all, incidents, service requests, changes are executed in accordance to the BHRUT’s SLA’s.

You will act as a specialist in the Telecoms infrastructure field, whilst Supporting and maintaining BHRUT Telephones, DECT phones and bleeps.

You will consistently deliver a “client-focused” service which promotes good customer service and effective working relationships. You will also support services and help deliver Telecoms Team projects in line with informatics PMO.

Key Responsibilities

• Working as part of the Telecoms Team, the Telecoms Senior LEad will be responsible for managing the daily, weekly, and monthly Telecoms support checklists
• Working as part of the System’s 3rd line technical support team, to provide the highest level of technical support remotely and over the phone. Troubleshooting various levels of complexity ICT support tickets.
• Ensure Support tickets, Service requests, Changes are always documented and completed within the agreed Service level agreements.
• Working with customers and engineers to resolve ongoing technical issues (Root Cause Analysis)
• Maintain and apply patch updates/upgrades to all server / SAN systems (including Windows Updates / HP Firmware updates / VMware Updates / SAN Storage firmware updates
• Maintain and replace any faulty Server / SAN Storage Hardware with hot spares stocked by ICT.
• Ensure backups are consistent and stored securely at appropriate locations.
• Ensure that core applications are kept up to date according to the latest release.
• Ensure all devices are secure, have antivirus installed and are up to date.
• Ensure all devices are encrypted with BHRUT encryption software.
• Create, manage, and deploy installers to deploy 3rd party applications or fixes.
• Create, manage, and deploy Gold Build images for BHRUT devices.

Main duties of the job

The Telecoms Senior Lead will be responsible for delivering and maintaining a highly effective telephony services to ensure the provision of an efficient and reliable 24 hour, 365 day service by Barking, Havering, and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT).

The post holder will provide specialist support in the operational management, implementation and maintenance of Telephony communication networks and projects, assisting in the provision of continuous and acceptable service to all end users, including management and supervision of approved third-party service providers and contractors as well as support of Telecoms Analysts.

This role will provide technical expertise within the Telecoms field by identifying, recommending, developing, implementing, and supporting cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the Trust and its customers and working closely with other members within the team and department, troubleshooting issues and working on complex projects.

The post holder will provide and deliver the highest possible telecoms technical support to our customers and potential customers, by working as a member of the Telecoms support team to ensure all, incidents, service requests, changes are executed in accordance with the BHRUT’s SLA’s this will include but not limited to telephony, paging and associated voice and non-voice contact systems.

The telephone systems are managed services (QH is provided by Atos/Unify via the PFI company whilst KGH is provided directly by Atos/Unify to the Trust).

Out of hours issues are reported to the telephone and network providers by the switchboard team who are provided with written procedure for this purpose.

Essential criteria

1. Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience.
2. Management training or management qualification (e.g., ILM) or equivalent experience of managing a team.
3. Evidence of continuing professional development pertaining to the post.

5. PRINCE2 Certification
