Overview
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to work as an advanced practitioner within the head and neck specialism in Hywel Dda University Health Board. The successful candidate will work closely with the ENT multidisciplinary team to provide timely diagnosis for neck cancers. The candidate will be expected to perform diagnostic scans and biopsies/fine needle aspirations.
The post will be based at Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen, but the post holder will be expected to work across the health board as needed.
Responsibilities
* Be an expert practitioner in head and neck ultrasound and to perform biopsies as required.
* Assess complex clinical information to ensure that the imaging performed contributes significantly to a diagnosis for the patient.
* Provide professional advice to other professionals, multidisciplinary groups, patients and carers.
* Participate in the training of Radiology Registrars, Sonographers, Student Sonographers and Radiography students.
* Contribute to the operational and strategic development of ultrasound services.
* Work across the health board as needed and collaborate with the ENT multidisciplinary team to diagnose neck cancers.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications & Knowledge, Experience and Other will be assessed at application stage. All criteria can be assessed at interview stage.
Welsh Language
