Are you a Psychology graduate looking to make a meaningful difference in young people’s lives? We are seeking compassionate, patient, and reflective individuals to join a dedicated team supporting pupils with additional needs in a specialist education setting in Leasowe / Wallasey.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who wants to gain hands-on experience in education, mental health, or therapeutic support, while working in a nurturing and structured environment.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
1. Support students with a range of social, emotional, and behavioural needs
2. Work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored learning and support strategies
3. Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to help them feel safe and engaged
4. Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and wellbeing throughout the school day
5. Assist with classroom activities, interventions, and pastoral care
About You
We are particularly interested in candidates who:
6. Hold a degree in Psychology or a related field
7. Have a calm, grounded, and patient nature
8. Are empathetic, observant, and able to respond thoughtfully to challenging situations
9. Have a genuine interest in child development, mental health, and education
10. Are proactive and willing to learn from a multidisciplinary team
Desirable (but not essential)
11. Experience or training in wellbeing practices
12. Skills or qualifications in yoga, mindfulness, or relaxation techniques
13. Previous experience working with children or young people (in any setting)
