Menzies Distribution Solutions is looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team in Clitheroe. You will provide first-class service to a Menzies Customer by delivering products and unloading with a Moffett.
On days without a run, you will work in the yard performing shunt duties such as pulling trailers from customer sites, opening and closing curtains, and moving stillages and trailers around the yard. This role involves multi-drop deliveries, loading and unloading using a Moffett, and some handballing, offering variety in your day.
The Details
* Monday to Friday
* £38,804.35 per annum / £15.50 per hour
* 06:00-16:45 / 48 hours per week
* Monthly pay
* No current requirement for Bank Holiday or Christmas work
* Moffett Licence desirable but not essential; full training provided
* Start times vary; earliest could be 04:00, with shunting starting between 06:00 and 07:00
Shunting and Driving Duties
* General driving, adhering to legal and best practice standards
* Delivering and collecting from customer premises and MDS locations
* Using electronic P.O.D and technology (training provided)
* Loading and unloading assistance
* Moffett driving (training provided)
* Vehicle types range from vans to Class 1 trucks
* Opening/closing curtains, vehicle repairs, strapping/transhipping loads
* Maintaining housekeeping, reporting H&S issues, liaising with customer loading teams
Driver Requirements
* Full UK C+E licence (essential)
* 12 months Class 1 experience (desirable)
* Excellent driving skills
* No more than 6 points on licence
* No disqualifications (DD, TT, DR, CD, IN)
* Right to work in the UK
* Knowledge of drivers hours and WTD regulations
* Moffett licence desirable but training given
