Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Research Fellow in the Paediatric Department based at Whipps Cross Hospital. This is a 12-month fixed term contract starting from September. The post holder will provide clinical services in paediatric A&E, assessment unit, outpatient department, labour ward, and postnatal wards as appropriate.
This role offers a unique opportunity to join a growing team, develop new models of care, and contribute to the development of future hospital services as part of the Government’s New Hospital Programme.

Main duties of the job
The Paediatric department at Whipps Cross Hospital, part of the Children’s Clinical Board within Barts Health, comprises 14 Consultants and 32 Junior Doctors. The hospital provides comprehensive acute paediatric and neonatal services to a diverse child population in Northeast London, serving Waltham Forest, Redbridge, and parts of Epping Forest. The team collaborates with the Children’s Home Care Nursing Team supporting children at home with complex medical needs.

We seek a full-time Paediatric Clinical Research Fellow for a 12-month fixed-term contract to work within a multidisciplinary team supporting research projects, including NIHR portfolio and non-NIHR studies. The role involves engaging with internal and external audiences to promote our research initiatives.

Qualifications and Knowledge
* Assessment and management of acutely ill children
* Full GMC Registration with license to practice
* MBChB or equivalent
* MRCPCH part 1
* APLS and NLS certifications
* Knowledge or experience of the NHS
* Neonatal resuscitation skills
Experience
* Completion of foundation years or equivalent
* Previous paediatric clinical experience
* Participation in clinical audits and data presentation
* Teaching experience
