Role Overview
In this role, your primary responsibility is to ensure projects produce the required deliverables within specified tolerances of time, cost, quality, scope, risk, and benefits.
You will be accountable for the cross-functional delivery of "Projects" related to medical device or pharmaceutical product development through applicable phases of the NPI process, including concept, feasibility, development, commercial scale-up, and launch. This includes both Client Funded and Internal Self-Funded Projects, or projects considered sufficiently "complex" that require a Program Manager to lead.
Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
* Coordinate the scoping, planning, resource, and cost estimation of new project proposals in line with internal and external client requirements, considering NPI requirements where applicable.
* Lead and motivate cross-functional project core teams to successfully complete tasks, promoting good client service.
* Establish and manage client relationships, acting as the primary liaison between the client and the organization/site.
* Support business development in contract negotiations, balancing customer needs and business objectives.
* Organize and manage project and technical meetings with clients.
* Prepare project and technical information for clients, ensuring accurate documentation and timely distribution of minutes.
* Maintain project management documentation according to regulatory, GMP, and business guidelines (e.g., NPI tools, decision logs, risk logs).
* Ensure proper use of Design Controls within projects and lead risk management by identifying, estimating, and assessing threats and opportunities.
* Seek opportunities to accelerate project progress, considering risks and developing mitigation strategies.
* Coordinate team preparation for NPI Gate reviews and documentation completion.
* Manage project resource demands in scheduling systems to align resources across the division.
* Collaborate with functional leaders for core team selection to match project needs.
* Oversee all financial aspects of assigned projects, articulating project status and profitability.
* Work with departments to approve changes through scheduled re-approvals or change orders.
Skills & Experience
* Degree in Science or Engineering preferred.
* Project Management Accreditation desired but not essential.
* Proficient in Project Management software, e.g., Microsoft Project.
* Experience in pharmaceutical product development from concept to launch.
* Strong leadership and cross-functional team management skills.
* Ability to handle complex scenarios and influence stakeholders.
* Excellent verbal, negotiation, and financial communication skills.

Additional Information
Working Hours: 37.5 hrs/week
Location: Charnwood Campus, Loughborough
