DLR is a prominent and well-established Data Centre owner / operator with a proven track record of successful projects across EMEA. With our commitment to excellence and innovation, we strive to deliver high-quality construction solutions that exceed our clients' expectations. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Construction Director to lead and oversee our construction projects in this region.
As the Regional Construction Director, you will be accountable for ensuring DE&C values are upheld and will be responsible for managing and coordinating all construction activities within the region. Reporting directly to the Director of Construction - EMEA you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of projects, meeting strict timelines, adhering to budgetary constraints, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
The main purpose of this role is to assist with improving the conception, definition, and execution of our construction projects in all countries by establishing best practices as well as clear roles & responsibilities and the associated structure and governance between DE&C and our internal stakeholders. This should lead to consistent, safe, efficient, predictable, timely and high-quality execution of our construction projects.
What you’ll need
1. 15+ years’ experience working construction project management, preferably in data centres.
2. Strong background in Project Management methodologies
3. Experience in managing a multi country project structure.
4. Experience in 3+ Experience in Continuous Process Improvement and defining and managing associated metrics and KPIs
5. Experience in data centres or a similar mission critical environment is considered a significant advantage though not essential this will be a key consideration should multiple candidates be assessed for suitability.
6. Experience of working in a European multi-cultural environment
7. Experience with the design and deployment of technical electrical and mechanical systems
8. Experience with a variety of construction contract delivery methods commonly used in EMEA
9. Experience managing and developing direct employees, contractors, subcontractor, and vendor relationships as well as experience working with standard practices in the design and construction industry
10. Experience with greenfield site development, ground-up and retrofit construction projects.
11. Experience working with local, regional, domestic, and international construction build codes and health & safety requirements
12. Good level of digital competence with experience using key construction tools
