Role Overview:
In the role of Production Manager, you will be responsible for the production process within the Manufacturing Operations at Sony UKTec. You will lead a highly motivated team to produce a variety of complex products in small & large batch sizes whilst maintaining the highest quality supply to professional and consumer markets. You will be expected to deliver on agreed daily, weekly & monthly Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI’s) in addition to creating and delivering strategies in line with the mid-range Plan. Building relationships and networks both internally and externally is essential to success within this role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Overseeing the production process and team, including Shift Operations.
* Job control and schedule delivery.
* Collating and reporting KPIs relevant to the manufacturing operation
* Data analysis with the initiative to improve process’.
* Creating operational standards and adhering to existing standards resulting in the production of the highest quality products.
* Liaising with several supporting departments, e.g. Supply Chain, Engineering, etc.
* Reviewing team and individual performance and identifying training needs.
* Coaching and mentoring of team.
* Performance Management.
* Coordinating manning and flexibility to support changes in production quantity.
* Maintaining engagement and motivation levels within the team.
* Leading training programs in line with new technologies.
* A strong team player, with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation and have the drive and ambition for success.
* Excellent leadership, coaching skills, decision making & problem-solving techniques
* Ability to be creative and instigate change
* Self-motivated and goal focused with excellent organisation skills.
* Strategic mindset to lead into the short, mid & long term.
* Previous Leadership/coaching experience.
* Ability to work within a demanding production/target driven environment.
* A level of understanding of Six Sigma, 5S, Production Innovation and Lean methodology.
* The ability to demonstrate a flexible approach.
