Contract/Hours
Permanent Full Time - 37 hours a week, with a 2-week rolling rota drawn up in advance with every 2nd weekend off. Shifts are 7.30-14.50 and 14.00 - 21.30.

About the Service
Viking House is an overnight 6 bedded short break residential service, suitable for children and young people up to the age of 18 years with physical and/or learning disabilities, including complex health and behavioural care needs.
You will support the children with their day-to-day personal needs, working with your team and the children to assess individual needs and develop tailored care plans. You will help maintain a safe and fun environment for both staff and children within the home and whilst out in the community.
The Role
Our Residential Support Worker works in a dedicated team through shifts with expertise and empathy. Their proactive approach to risk management and safeguarding ensures the wellbeing of our young people, delivering high-quality, personalized care, guidance, and advocacy. We offer opportunities for career progression, including qualifications for future roles such as Registered Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing lead case and care planning, including risk assessment and management.
* Coordinating responsibilities within the service, working with multi-agency teams, and producing reports.
* Supporting young people through challenging situations with resilience.
Candidate Requirements
* Experience working in a care setting and building positive relationships based on trust.
* Ability to communicate effectively with service users and their families.
* A solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
* Emotional resilience to handle challenging roles.
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognized equivalent), or willingness to complete within 2 years with full support.
