Solicitor – Office of the General Counsel - Contentious work, Cambridge
Our Office of the General Counsel advises on a wide variety of contentious and non-contentious risk issues that arise in delivering professional services across assurance, tax, and advisory areas.

Role Overview
As a lawyer specialising in contentious work within our in-house legal team, you will:
1. Handle claims, issues, and projects such as professional liability claims, regulatory enquiries, professional indemnity insurance, litigation, mediation, and other risk-management issues.
2. Collaborate with colleagues to provide practical, commercially-focused legal advice to stakeholders, including partners and senior management.
3. Instruct and oversee outside solicitors, counsel, and experts in dispute resolution related to professional services.
This role may suit a junior or mid-level litigator from a commercial law firm, but we welcome applications from all qualified candidates demonstrating the necessary skills.
Candidate Requirements
The minimum criteria to join us as a Solicitor are:
* Qualified solicitor or barrister with substantial experience in commercial dispute resolution in England and Wales or a similar jurisdiction.
* Good knowledge of law and procedure related to professional liability, preferably concerning professional advisers.
Additional desirable skills include understanding risk-management in professional services, pragmatic approach, strong communication skills, teamwork ability, and relationship-building skills. We support your professional development in areas where you may have less experience.
