Here at Brownhills Ormiston Academy, we are looking for an exceptional mathematics teacher with a first-rate understanding of teaching and learning, mathematics curriculum development and a complete commitment to raising attainment.

We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who will support, coach and guide the Maths team in ensuring high standards of student attainment and achievement and will monitor and support student progress. The successful candidate will be ambitious, career driven, and have a firm commitment to raising whole school attainment.

The successful candidate will possess clear communication skills and the ability to relate well to both students and staff. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate commitment, energy, and drive to join our team and work to provide positive learning experiences for all our students.

Applicants will possess a teaching qualification and will be a highly competent classroom practitioner as well as being able to demonstrate knowledge of how children learn and assessment for learning as well as how to effectively manage behaviour.

The successful candidate will:

* Be a lead practitioner demonstrating first-rate teaching and learning
* Provide an exceptional standard of mathematics teaching that secures excellent outcomes for our students
* Provide instructional coaching to teachers in mathematics and across the academy
* Design and facilitate continuing professional development for teachers in mathematics and across the academy
* Quality assure teaching and learning in the department and contribute to the wider quality assurance of teaching across the academy
* Keep up to date with national and local developments in mathematics education.
* Facilitate and lead learning experiences outside of the classroom.
* Have high expectations of yourself, students and the academy for standards of teaching and learning
* Inspire students and staff through a passionate commitment to the subject.
* Have experience in monitoring and evaluating standards of teaching and learning through observation, sampling students' work and student feedback
* Have experience in overseeing effective assessment, recording and reporting of student progress
* Possess strong curriculum knowledge
* Have a passion for teaching and learning, celebrating success and encouraging all to aspire, achieve and excel.
* Strong organisational, personal time management and planning skills
* Have the knowledge and experience of /willingness to learn about effective leadership and management of people/management of change in an educational setting.
* Have the ability to use all Microsoft Office packages to a proficient standard
* Have the ability to work well in a team and independently
