We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Maintenance Operative to join our dedicated Maintenance Team. This hands-on role is vital in ensuring our tenants’ homes are safe, well-maintained, and welcoming. As a frontline ambassador for Zetetick Housing, you will consistently reflect our core values and commitment to outstanding service. Requirements Carry out a wide range of maintenance and minor repair tasks in tenant homes, including: Adjusting and easing doors Replacing tiles Unblocking sinks and internal drainage Painting and decorating Assembling furniture General property and garden maintenance Minor plumbing tasks Preparing void properties for new tenants Identify, plan, and carry out additional planned maintenance work as required Organise your own appointments and manage daily work schedules effectively Complete and submit all job documentation accurately using our computerised repairs system (mobile device-based) Liaise closely with the Property Supervisor and Housing team to prioritise repair requests Participate in the out-of-hours emergency on-call rota (additional pay and door-to-door hours apply) Collect supplies and carry tools as required for each task Qualifications Essential: Proven experience in general property maintenance Multi-skilled with competency in trades such as decorating, plumbing, and DIY Ability to work independently, using initiative and problem-solving skills Strong customer service approach with respect for vulnerable tenants and their homes Good written, verbal, and numerical skills IT literate – able to use mobile-based job systems effectively Full UK driving licence Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check Desirable: Formal qualification in a relevant trade Experience working within social housing or with vulnerable tenant groups
