Supply Desk is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive school in the Brighton area, seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with Speech and Language expertise and British Sign Language (BSL) experience.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs, supporting their communication, learning, and emotional development in a nurturing environment.
The Role:
* Supporting pupils with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN)
* Using British Sign Language to aid communication and learning
* Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support plans
* Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement in learning
* Promoting inclusive practices across the classroom and school
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Proven experience supporting children with speech and language needs
* Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL) – Level 2 or above preferred
* A caring, patient and proactive approach
* Experience working in SEN settings (mainstream or specialist)
* A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
