Chef - Part Time (20 Hours Per Week)
Location: Ashchurch Camp
Pay Rate: £14.25 per hour
We’re currently recruiting an ambitious Part-Time Chef to help us create exceptional food experiences for Defence. This role is contracted to 20 hours per week, offering the chance to showcase your culinary skills within the UK’s market-leading food service company.
As a Chef, you’ll prepare and serve food that truly brightens our clients’ and customers’ days. You’ll also be part of a company that invests in its people, celebrates individuality, and recognises those who go above and beyond.
Shift Patterns
* Monday-Friday:
o Early shift: 06:00-14:30
o Late shift: 12:00-18:00
* Weekends:
o 09:00-17:00
* Working pattern: 5 out of 7 days
Meal Service Times
* Monday-Friday:
o Breakfast: 07:00-08:00
o Lunch: 12:15-13:15
o Evening Meal: 16:30-17:00
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights our clients and customers
* Overseeing and implementing menu changes
* Identifying opportunities to enhance food services
* Acting on customer feedback to support continuous improvement
* Assisting with the creation of new menus and creative food concepts
* Representing Defence and maintaining a positive brand image
* Monitoring stock levels to ensure kitchens remain well-supplied
* Overseeing kitchen cleaning tasks to maintain hygiene standards
* Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene, and Health & Safety regulations
Ideal Candidate
* Must have experience in a previous Chef role
* Passionate about great-tasting food and excellent customer service
* Qualifications desirable, such as:
o City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent
o Food Hygiene certificate
* Experience supervising a team is an advantage
* Flexible and adaptable approach to work
