A member of the employee ownership trust board and statutory director of EGT Trustees Ltd. This is an opportunity to represent the interests of the employees within the EOT for 2 years from 1st April 2026, ensuring it operates in a way that benefits employees.
Job Overview:
To be an active member of EGT Trustees to ensure the company's leadership is progressing towards its goals, maximizing employee engagement and commitment.
Contributing to managing employee relations to ensure that the EOT's purpose is understood and the company is being managed for the long-term benefit of the employee owners.
Ensure that the Trust operates under the terms of the Trust Deed.
Responsibilities:
To act as statutory Director for EGT Trustees Limited in accordance with EGT-0225-D-vA POS#10 Trust Deed and with due regard to the general duties of directors in Part 10 of the Companies Act 2006.
You would be expected to:
* Attend and actively participate in quarterly Board meetings
* Run the quarterly feedback group meetings
* Attend, run and actively participate in any additional ad hoc meetings
* Prepare for meetings
* Act in the beneficiary's interest in any Trust decision
* Maintain confidentiality at all times
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
* To be eligible, you must be an employee with at least 12 months service. You should be passionate about eg technology and support the Trust aims.
* You must have some understanding of how a business is run and ideally would understand profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
* You should be able to demonstrate significant self-motivation and enthusiasm.
* You should be commercially aware and a strong communicator.
* You should show personal characteristics of egt values.
Package & Benefits:
Your current role and package will not change:
• A monthly honorarium will be paid to the employee trustee for the duration of the post.
• Training will be provided by eg technology Ltd & the Trust.
• Time will be allocated in Projector for Board meetings, Focus groups and training.
• The trustee role is in addition to your roles and responsibilities as an employee. Review of official trust/board documents, meeting preparation and occasional ad hoc meetings may need to be conducted outside of normal office hours and should not be to the detriment of your primary role.
Note:
* The Employee Trustee must be eligible to act as a Company Director in accordance with the Companies Act 2006 and any other applicable legislation and not disqualified from holding the position for any reason. You will be required to verify your identity with Companies House.
* The Employee Trustee must be a beneficiary of the Trust - so must have been employed by eg technology Ltd for a minimum of 12 months.
* Directors of eg technology Ltd or egt Group Ltd are not eligible to act as the Employee Trustee.
* In the event that there is more than one suitable candidate put forward by the employee focus group and trustees, final selection of the Trustee will be by secret ballot of the beneficiaries. Candidates will be asked to publish why they qualify for the role and should be appointed, in preparation for this ballot.
