Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant Salary: £85-£95 per day Location: Blandford Forum, Dorset Job Type: Full-Time Start Date: ASAP We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming and vibrant team at a thriving primary school in the heart of Blandford Forum. This is a fantastic opportunity to play an important role in supporting the learning and development of pupils with SEN, while also contributing to the wider classroom environment. Key Responsibilities •Work under the guidance of the class teacher to deliver high-quality learning support. •Provide tailored 1:1 assistance to a pupils with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met and inclusion is promoted. •Foster a safe, caring, and stimulating learning environment for all pupils. •Support with the preparation of resources, classroom organisation, and learning activities. •Assist with behaviour management both inside and outside the classroom. •Encourage children’s progress in reading, writing, and mathematics through targeted support. •Monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to ongoing assessment and evaluation. •Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCo to implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs). •Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities. Person specification •Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, or working with children with SEN, is essential. •A patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach to supporting children. •Strong interpersonal and communication skills. •The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. •A relevant Level 2/3 TA qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential. •Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and promoting the welfare of children. •An enhanced DBS check is required for the successful candidate.
