Client Name: Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board
Role: Locum Consultant Medical Oncologist - Gynae & ideally Upper GI
Shifts: Mon-Fri, full or part time considered. Job plan to be negotiated with interested candidate. This is ideally for 4 days covering gynae and upper GI based in Wrexham. Other tumour sites can be considered alongside gynae.

Job Overview:
Working flexibly at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, you will support cancer patients throughout their treatment, providing both curative and palliative care, using advanced medical equipment to ensure effective radiotherapy and systemic therapy treatments.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
* Support patients and families, explaining diagnosis, cancer stage, and treatment options clearly
* Manage side effects and symptoms of cancer and treatments, including pain management
* Coordinate and prescribe treatments such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy
* Provide radiation therapy (for Clinical Oncologists)
* Monitor and care for seriously ill or unstable patients
* Engage in shared decision-making with patients
* Lead and work within a multidisciplinary team
* Assess patient needs, delegate tasks, and report changes
* Maintain records, write prescriptions, and provide cancer information
* Adhere to GMC professional standards
Qualifications and Licenses:
* GMC registered Doctor (not necessarily on the Specialist Register)
* Relevant consultant-level experience or supporting references
* Evidence of right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
* Pass an enhanced DBS check
