Specialist Support Worker - Complex Care & Challenging Behaviour
68 per hour
Shifts: Flexible (Days & Nights) - Urgent Night Cover Required
Are you experienced in supporting individuals with high-level needs and behaviours of concern? We're looking for dedicated Specialist Support Workers to join a highly structured and consistent care model supporting individuals with complex presentations across Cornwall.
You will be part of a close-knit team delivering bespoke, 2:1 or 3:1 care within the community, primarily in family homes or supported living environments. Support involves managing a range of conditions, including:
• Learning disabilities (LD)
• Autism
• Behaviours that challenge (including PBS-informed support)
These are long-term care packages where continuity, clinical awareness, and clear communication are key. One current case has an urgent requirement for night staff, and includes behavioural complexities requiring confident, experienced workers with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Given the sensitivities of certain clients and the therapeutic models in place, the following qualities are essential:
• Experience with positive behaviour support (PBS) or trauma-informed care
• Physical resilience and emotional intelligence
• Drivers preferred due to rural package locations
This more than a care role, it's a chance to be part of a therapeutic model that changes lives. We're actively building a team to support long-term, high-complexity packages.
