Mapping & Charting Officer

CPL have partnered with Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) to recruit for a Mapping & Charting Officer (E01 Grade) to join their team on a temporary contract, with possibility of extension.

·Pay Rate - £17.43 per/hr

·Location – DoF, LPS, OSNI- Geospatial Systems and Data Management

·Benefits – 37 days holiday

·Hours – 37 hours per week

Responsibilities will include:

·System Assurance Support (Spatial NI) -Contribute to the System Assurance process by maintaining key inventories and registers:

oInformation Asset Inventory

oIT Asset Inventory

oRegister of Authorised Users

·Data Management - Assist with the decommissioning of geographic data, ensuring proper documentation and coordination.

·Governance Support - Provide secretarial support for the Change Advisory Board (CAB), including agenda preparation, minute taking, and action tracking.

·Quality Assurance - QA and provide constructive feedback on GIS-related tasks and outputs to support continuous improvement.

·Procedure Documentation - Assist in the development and maintenance of procedural documentation for GIS administrative tasks.

Essential Experience/Qualifications

·Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical colleagues, demonstrating attention to detail and organisational skills.

·Ability to manage and maintain data inventories and registers, including information assets, IT assets, and user access records.

·Strong written communication skills, with the ability to document procedures and workflows clearly and accurately.

Desired Experience/ Qualifications

Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:

·Esri ArcGIS Enterprise including Portal, ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Pro

·Esri ArcGIS Online (AGOL)

Relevant or Equivalent Qualifications
