Join Nurseplus as a Care Worker – Supporting Women and Children Affected by Domestic Abuse

As a temporary Care Worker, you’ll play a vital role in supporting women and children who have experienced domestic abuse. You’ll work across a range of services including refuges, supported housing, and community-based projects, helping individuals move towards safety, stability, and long-term recovery.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Care Worker supporting women and children affected by domestic abuse, you may be involved in:
7. Providing practical and emotional support within refuges, supported housing, and community programs
8. Supporting children and adults affected by trauma and abuse
9. Building trusting, professional relationships and promoting engagement
10. Delivering person-centred support focused on safety, empowerment, and recovery
11. Encouraging independence, life skills, and community integration
12. Supporting access to housing, healthcare, legal advice, and specialist services
13. Assisting with care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures
14. Working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Your role will focus on empowerment, safety, and recovery, helping women and children regain control over their lives while promoting dignity, respect, and choice.
What We’re Looking For
15. You must be 18+ and have the right to work in the UK
16. Experience working with vulnerable individuals, ideally women and children affected by abuse or trauma
17. Training in managing challenging behaviour and safeguarding is beneficial; FREE CPI training is available if required
18. Flexibility to work across different services and locations
19. A good standard of English and strong communication skills
20. A compassionate, resilient, and non-judgmental approach
21. A clear enhanced DBS (you can apply for this upon registration)
