As we continue our journey of growth and expansion to serve the new era of nuclear energy, Boccard, a leading specialist in engineering, manufacturing, construction, and maintenance in the nuclear energy industry, is looking for a Project Controls Engineer to work within the Project Control team. The role involves ensuring our projects at the Nuclear New Build Project at Hinkley Point C are successfully delivered on time and within budget. The position will be based at Boccard Bristol city centre office.
Working across a portfolio of exciting projects, the role will support the Project Control Team, assisting the Programme Manager with reporting, document management, and project planning.
Responsibilities:
* Support multiple projects, ensuring best practices to meet specified requirements and targets.
* Contribute to the delivery programme baseline and operate project control processes including requirements management, planning, cost control, risk assessment, trend analysis, and change control.
* Manage project risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation measures or other appropriate actions.
* Maintain project documentation to the required standards within the management system.
* Assist in managing changes in estimation and planning to enable valuation and submission of contract change applications.
* Support the Project Management Office in delivering strategy and capability development responsibilities.
* Provide project performance data, including critical path analysis, float erosion, milestones, CPI, SPI, and EVA, to the Project Control lead monthly.
* Contribute to monthly client and supplier reports.
* Support internal audits to ensure procedural compliance and implement corrective actions as needed.
Experience and qualifications:
Degree in an Engineering discipline. Candidates should be detail-oriented, organized, with excellent planning skills, analytical, and proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Query, Power BI). Curiosity and a willingness to learn are essential.
Experience in an engineering or technical environment, preferably in the nuclear industry, is advantageous.
