Our Manchester based technology client is a specialist provider of IT services to business customers. This includes: cloud computing, IT infrastructure, cyber‑security, disaster recovery, Artificial Intelligence (AI), unified communications, and data solutions.
Role – Commercial Paralegal / Sole Counsel
This is a superb opportunity to join a growing technology company, and to have genuine oversight, responsibility and autonomy for legal and contractual matters.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
* Drafting, reviewing, managing and negotiating contracts (customer, supplier, partner, NDA, SaaS, licensing)
* Identifying and mitigating legal and commercial risks
* Advising internal stakeholders on contractual terms and compliance
* Developing contract templates, playbooks, and governance processes
* Supporting the maintenance of contract repositories and reporting
* Providing legal and administrative support on disputes and claims where required
* Assisting with customer due diligence responses
* Assisting with corporate governance and entity compliance requirements
* Supporting GDPR, regulatory and compliance initiatives
* Supporting the Company Secretary with filings and compliance
What we're looking for
We are seeking applications from experienced commercial paralegals, ideally with in‑house experience, or from junior commercial solicitors who also have relevant pre‑qualification experience.
Applicants must have had demonstrable exposure to contract and commercial law, and you will ideally have some familiarity with GDPR, compliance or governance work, although this is not a prerequisite.
The role of Commercial Paralegal / Sole Counsel (Solicitor) is a fantastic opportunity for those lawyers seeking a new challenge and/or a step‑up in responsibility. You will have scope to grow and develop your presence within the company, and you will have daily interaction with the leadership team and senior stakeholders.
