THE POSITION
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and serving as a key member of the Senior Management Team, the Head of Finance will provide strategic leadership and oversight of financial operations across Enable Ireland. The role encompasses strategic planning, financial control, planning and analysis, and financial systems and compliance. It is critical to ensuring the organisation's long-term financial sustainability and to enabling the successful delivery of its strategic priorities. By fostering a culture of sound financial management, the Head of Finance will ensure that Enable Ireland remains well-positioned to support the children and adults who rely on its services.
The role demands strong financial and commercial acumen, sound judgement, and the ability to build collaborative relationships across all functions. The post holder will be required to effectively prioritise and manage a diverse workload, often under tight deadlines, while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance across all locations.
REQUIREMENTS
Suitably qualified candidates will be operating at Finance Director level or in an equivalent senior finance leadership role, with a proven track record in financial management, operational leadership, team management, and business transformation. Experience within a large not-for-profit, public sector organisation, or a private health or social care provider is essential.
Applicants must demonstrate a practical understanding of disability service delivery, HSE service arrangements, HIQA regulations, and Irish public sector funding within the voluntary disability sector. Key competencies required for success in this pivotal role include strategic vision, leadership, relationship management, critical thinking and decision-making, change management, communication and influencing, and strong business and financial acumen. A deep commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Enable Ireland is essential.
